For 27 years, the Twombly Performance Horse Sale was successfully held twice a year in various locations, including Cheyenne, WY during Cheyenne Frontier Days; Fort Worth, TX and Las Vegas, NV during the National Finals Rodeo; and at our very own Coyote Slide Ranch in Bayard, NE. In June 2024, the Twombly family held their last auction; however, their passion for training and selling top-quality ranch, trail, roping, and reining horses continues today – and their reputation remains stronger than ever!
Through the years, the Twombly family became widely recognized for offering horses with great conformation, dispositions, and color – as well as with outstanding pedigrees and athletic ability. “We ride our horses through thick brush, up and down big hills & steep canyons, through winding rivers, and even take them on strolls through town,” said Dan Twombly. “Our horses are trained to be soft in the face, take their correct leads, stop on the ‘whoa’ command, and to move away from neck rein and leg pressure – and all of the horses offered in our sales are owned and ridden by our family.”
The ultimate goal? To match potential buyers, including trainers, beginners, and experienced riders, with a horse that is well-suited and ‘perfect’ for them — a commitment that holds true today as they continue their sale of top-notch gelding & mares via their personalized, private treaty service that specializes in gorgeous, gentle riding horses.
