Twombly Performance Horse Sale :: June 2024

It was a beautiful day here in western Nebraska for the Twombly Performance Horse Sale, held on June 14, 2024. For 27 years, we have been selling gorgeous, gentle, top-quality gelding and mares – and this day marked our 54th sale! A special thank you to all who attended, as well as to those who bid via phone. Our auctioneer for the day was Steve Friskup, with online & phone bidding supported through Superior Livestock. The horses were fat, shiny and ready to sell!

“Desert” is slow and steady on the trails and is a finished reiner.  He sold at Lot 17 for $44,000 to Colorado. A grandson of Nic It In The Bud on the top side and a grandson of Topsail Cody on the bottom side.  He is an NRHA money earner.

“Milo” sold for $35,000 at Lot 4 to Colorado.  Another son of Shiners Voodoo Dr and the dam was by Topsail Whiz.  A finished reiner that was breathtaking to look at.  Gentle for the grandkids to ride.  NRHA money earner.

Lot 22 was a very uniquely colored black Appaloosa gelding.  “Castle” has a show pedigree.  He is a smooth and elegant mover.  Very sweet personality.  Sold for $32,500 to California.

Lot 2 is a very pretty, gentle 4 year old palomino gelding.  “Boon” sold for 30,000 to a Texas buyer.  He has roped both ends and is gentle for the lesson kids. They will ride him on the ranch!

Lot 6 is a finished reiner with NRHA earnings.  “Chica” is a show horse and a family horse.  Anyone can ride this nice mare.  She is going to her new home in Colorado at a bid of $29,000. One of a kind!

“Sissy” is an own daughter of the great Gunnatrashya and out of a mare by Hollywood Dun It.  She is a beautiful and kind buckskin mare.  Always easy to handle.  She stays here in Nebraska at a final bid of $28, 500. 

“Stockman” is 13 years old and all the kids love to ride him.  Super gentle and is a been there and done that type horse.  He is going to an awesome home in Colorado.  Sold for $27,000. Family horse deulxe!

“Truffle” sold at Lot 20 to Texas ranch.  He is a chocolate palomino gelding with roan hairs mixed in.  We enjoyed him down the trails and in the arena.  He sold for $26,000.

Hayslee loved riding Lot 15, “Surf”.  Super nice sorrel gelding who is sired by Gunner Dun It Again and a grandson of Tidal Wave Jack on the bottom side.  He sold for $26,000 to a repeat buyer and will have a new home with a very nice lady in Georgia.

Lot 18 sold to a buyer out of California for a final bid of 25,000.  “Remi” is gentle, kind and willing.  An own son of Spooks Gotta Whiz and out of a daughter of Shining Spark. He can be shown in the arena or ridden down the trails.

“Bentley” is a big, beautiful gray gelding.  He was sold at Lot 23 for $25,000 and has a new home in California.  He is a smooth and pretty mover.  He is a more whoa than go type horse. 

Lot 24 sold for $24,000.  “Trooper” is very laid back and easy to ride on the ranch and down the trails.  A very pretty and forgiving dun gelding.  He has a new home in California.

“Snorkle” is a fancy 4-year-old buckskin gelding who is gentle to be around and to handle.  An own son of Shine Chic Shine.  His final bid was $22,000 and was sold to Texas.

Selling at Lot 21 is “Cedar”.  An own son of CSR Dual Glo.  He is a very pretty buckskin gelding.  He is very heavy made and a nice ranch horse.  His final price was $21,500 and was sold to Oklahoma.

Lot 27 is a flashy buckskin gelding.  He is smooth to ride and a nice ranch horse.  He sold for $21,000  to a buyer from Texas.

“Carl” has been on our ranch for a few years.  Sired by Gunners Special Nite and a grandson of Matt Dillon Dun It.  We used him extensively on the ranch.  He sold for $18,000 to Illinois.
